I had an incomplete blog awhile back about Pizza in Vegas. I had a really great slice right along the strip, on the West side, somewhere between New York New York and the Bellagio, probably closer to the Bellagio. I’ve been a little frustrated that I couldn’t remember the name or the exact location.
So today I’m noting Hurricane Mikey’s endorsement of New York Pizza & Pasta as the best New York Style Pizza in Vegas. Thanks, Mikey, for the valuable info.

As a tried and true Gamecock, I was wondering if I would find anything that I would ever like about Clemson, and I FOUND IT! Coming back from a backpacking trip along the Chatooga River, my friend Troy recommended that we stop at Peppino’s Pizza in Clemson, South Carolina. We did, and to my surprise it was excellent New York Style Pizza.
Peppino’s is located right downtown in the small hamlet of Clemson- you can’t miss it. We all had a couple slices and I even tried the Sicilian. The place ranked a 90 on the Sliker Scale and received 5 stars on the Yummy Factor.

It was two months ago that I went to Myrtle Beach and stayed in a campground on the South end of town. I managed to find some opportunities to seek out some good New York Style Pizza while I was there. There used to be a place right down in the heart of Old Myrtle Beach near the pavilion that had very good slices. The last two or three times I went by there it was closed for the off-season.
So this time I tried a few other places that looked promising. None of them had really bad pizza, but none was what I was looking for either. Pizza Trattoria Romana is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, at 701 South Kings Hwy. I brought the family there for dinner. It scored only a 55 out of 100 on the Sliker Scale, and maybe (generously) 3 stars on the Yummy scale. There were no slices, no happy Italian family, no Sicilian pie…
The second place I tried was on the south side, down near Ocean Lakes campground on Hwy 544. It’s called Alfredo’s Pizza-Pasta-Subs. It looked promising from the outside, but alas, run by an Indian guy, no slices, etc, etc… It rated a 60 on the Sliker Scale and maybe 2-1/2 stars on the Yummy Factor.
It seems like I also found a third place but it I don’t remember where. What a crying shame– a pizza place that I can’t even remember.
SO PLEASE– ANYBODY– HELP ME FIND SOME GOOD PIE ON THE GRAND STRAND!!

I can't believe it's been two months since my last blog post. I can't really explain why I haven't posted. I know it's NOT because the blog and the mission of serving New York Pizza Lovers is not important. I'm more convinced than ever that this is indeed an important mission, and the comments on this site confirm it. Also, the stats confirm it. I'm averaging over 80 page views a day with peaks that go well over 100 pages viewed. A lot of people are looking for New York Style Pizza in particular locations. Looking at the stats and reading the comments on this site is very humbling to me.
And I want everyone to know that my research HAS NOT SLOWED DOWN– I just haven't blogged about it. So I've got some making up to do– I need to blog about Myrtle Beach, SC, another trip to Orlando, FL, a trip to SouthWest Florida, and more. It's all coming soon– I've recommitted to the mission.
